Our group rides (ages 10+) can be booked online here. We recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance.
For other dates, times, private rides, large group bookings, photo shoots, or any other 'custom' bookings, please don't hesitate to reach out using our Contact Form. We do not take phone bookings.
PLEASE NOTE THAT BEACH RIDES ARE MONDAY TO FRIDAY ONLY, AND NOT AVAILABLE ON PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
How can I contact you? Do you have a phone number?
We do not take phone bookings. All bookings are made on our website (for group bookings) or via email (for private bookings). If you need to contact us, we can be reached using our contact form. Once you have made a booking, you will receive a confirmation email which you can also reply to, to contact us.
How many people do you take per group?
Our beach tours are capped at 8 people, and forest rides at 10 people, however we can also cater for bigger groups with overlapping or back to back rides. We also offer private tours, for as little as one person.
What time are your rides?
Our ride times vary daily. Once you proceed to book, available times will be shown. Alternatively, please contact us to request a ride schedule or discuss other potential ride times (However please note that our beach rides are limited to Monday-Friday, and at the times you see on the 'book now' page and ride schedule. We can not open additional beach rides).
Do we ride for the whole allocated time?
On our 1.5hr forest trail rides you will spend approx 15-20 minutes getting to know your horse in the round yard while receiving basic instructions, and just over an hour out on the trails. On our Forest to beach rides you will also spend approx 15-20 minutes in the round yard, with approx 1 hour and 40 minutes out on our trails.
Do we need to have any riding experience?
No experience is necessary, however we will need to know your Age, height, weight, and experience level (0-5) to pair you with the right horse. Please use the following as a guide:
0) Never ridden a horse before.
1) Beginner: Have ridden a horse at a beginner level.
2) Novice: Have ridden a horse 10 or more times.
3) Intermediate: Comfortable at trot and canter. Can rise to the trot.
4) Experienced: Comfortable at all gaits and with a more spirited horse
Is there a maximum weight?
The maximum weight for beginners is 100kg, or 105kg for experienced riders. Please contact us if you are slightly over this weight though, as we may still be able to take you.
I would like to ride at my own pace; can I join one of your group rides?
Our group tours are mixed-experience and the overall pace of the ride depends on the experience level of the group (i.e. if lots of beginners it will be slower paced etc). If you would like to ride at your own pace, for example either a slower pace walk, or a faster ride, please contact us to arrange a private ride.
Is there a minimum age?
The minimum age for our group tours is 10 years old, however kids aged 3+ may still be able to ride on private tours or pony rides. Please contact us for more information or to arrange a private ride. Note that all riders under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian present at the beginning of the tour to complete the waiver on their behalf.
My child is younger, but can't they just ride with me on my horse, in my lap?
No, as It's not safe to do do. It's the equivalent to putting a child on the front seat of a car unrestrained. We are strictly limited to one person per horse.
My friend said that there is a nudist beach where you ride. Is that correct?
We ride on Tyagarah Beach, which in parts, is currently a trial 'clothes optional' area. We always actively avoid any nude bathers, especially, when children are on a ride.
I have a medical issue... am I able to ride?
If you have any medical issues, injuries, allergies, or disabilities, please contact us to discuss prior to making a booking and we will do our best to assist you. Sometimes we will require a letter from your doctor clearing you for riding. You can also contact RDA NSW for advice and to find an RDA centre in the region.
I am pregnant... Can I still ride?
Unfortunately we are unable to take pregnant riders. Sports Medicine Australia and Get Healthy NSW both recommend that pregnant people avoid exercises which risk falling and injury to the abdomen, such as horse riding. Horse riding also carries a risk of placental abruption. Please contact us if you have any questions, but note that medical advice should always be obtained from the appropriate medical professional.
I would like to book with a friend from overseas, but they can't speak English. Can they join a tour?
To understand instructions all riders are required to have at least a basic understanding of English. This is important as our guides will need to relay information to ensure safety for all of our guests. If you're unsure if your English is good enough, please contact us to discuss.
